Limiting the operation of EDEL to off-peak hours.
- We recommend allowing the water heater to operate freely outside of peak/off-peak tariff constraints. This allows your water heater to benefit from higher daytime air temperatures for better performance. As a result, you'll have more hot water available throughout the day with minimal impact on operating costs.
- However, if you wish to limit the operation to off-peak hours only, connect the dry contact output labeled "off-peak hours" from the electrical meter to the HP/HC input of EDEL.
- In the installer menu, set the DELESTAGE parameter to 0 if you wish to completely prohibit operation during peak hours (or to 1 if you only want to restrict electric backup operation during peak hours).
